FAQ

What is NameItTameIt?

A home for one old way of seeing hard things: name what is happening, see it clearly, then act instead of spiralling. You will find essays, true stories, events and simple tools here. A book is one part of it.

What is the book?

“Name the F, Tame the F”, a book about staying functional when life gets hard. Coming in 2027. More on the book.

How do I hear when the book is out?

Sign up for email updates at the bottom of any page. You can also follow the RSS feed.

Is this therapy or professional advice?

No. It is my own experience and reading, not medical, psychological, financial or professional advice. If you are struggling, please talk to a qualified professional.

Where does the name come from?

From a very old idea: naming a thing clearly is the start of handling it. Marcus Aurelius wrote about it nearly two thousand years ago, and many traditions and proverbs say the same. ‘Name it to tame it’ is a recent, popular wording by Dr. Dan Siegel and Tina Payne Bryson. This site is my own take on the idea. More.

Do you sell anything?

Not at the moment. Nothing on this site is for sale, and there are no affiliate links.

Are the events yours?

No. The Events page lists public events by other organisers, for information only.

Is the “Name it” sheet free?

Yes. Print it and use it as often as you like. Please keep the credit line if you share it.

Will there be audio versions?

Audio versions of the essays are coming later.
